Family Heritage Timeline - Who We Are - Samaras Greek Foods

A Journey Across Continents and Centuries

1924

Migration from Constantinople to Greece

In 1924, our family migrated from the vibrant Greek community of Tatavla, Constantinople (now Istanbul) to Greece, bringing with them generations of food production knowledge and culinary traditions. This migration marked the beginning of our Greek mainland operations.

1925

Establishing Roots in Neos Pyrgos, Evia

The newly built village of Neos Pyrgos in Evia became our family's new home in 1925. Here, we established our agricultural operations, cultivating traditional Greek products and developing our expertise in olives, figs, and legumes that would become our signature offerings.

1940s-50s

Pioneering Agricultural Innovation

During the 1940s and 1950s, our grandfather was a true agricultural prodigy. He operated traditional horse-drawn carriers to transport produce to local markets like Aidipsos, but his visionary spirit led him to purchase the second tractor in all of Evia - a Fordson with license plate 323, indicating it was the 323rd tractor registered in all of Greece. This revolutionary investment helped him industrialize his cultivation methods and skyrocket production, setting the foundation for our modern operations.
